Spectroscopy of heavy elements is a very delicate task due to the extreme low production cross sections. We recently pushed the limits of prompt spectroscopy down to the order of 10 nb with the study of 246Fm using JUROGAM2/RITU setup in Jyväskylä University. The S3 project operated in the framework of the SPIRAL2 project will enable us to go to the spectroscopy of superheavies elements. Based on the existing expertise, the S3 collaboration is preparing the best possible focal planes for spectroscopy of VHE/SHE elements and spectroscopy around 100Sn. After an introduction of the suject based on our recent 246Fm experiment, the developments done for S3 will be presented.
