FINAL PROGRAM: DETAILED (pdf), SHORT (pdf) and FRAME (png)

The daily schedule  of the Conference will be composed of  invited talks (duration of 30 minutes) and selected contributed seminars (duration of 15 minutes) in the morning and evening topical sessions. The dedicated poster session will play a key role in the presentation and discussion of forefront research. To promote the discussion of the very latest research, participants not giving a talk are encouraged to present a poster (see List of Posters).

Frame Program

Topical Sessions and Conveners

“Computing Atomic Nuclei: Frontiers of Nuclear Structure Theory” - Witold Nazarewicz (Tennessee/Warszawa)
"Neutron-rich Nuclei" - Faiçal Azaiez (Orsay)
"Proton-rich Nuclei" - Michael Bentley (York)
“Structure of Light Nuclei and Astrophysics” - Tohru Motobayashi (RIKEN)
"Superheavy Nuclei" - Matti Leino (Jyväskylä)
“Collective Modes” - Angela Bracco (Milano)
“Nuclear Reactions and Spectroscopy with Novel Techniques” - Marek Lewitowicz (GANIL)
“Beyond Nuclear Physics” - Christoph Scheidenberger (GSI)

„Symmetries in Nature - Symmetries in Nuclei” (Midnight School) - Jerzy Dudek (Strasbourg)

Special Sessions

The conference will start with keynote talks given by Walter Henning (ANL) on nuclear experiments and by James P. Vary (Iowa) on the nuclear structure theory.

The scientific part of the conference will be concluded with the lecture on physics, cosmology and philosophy given by the 2008 Templeton Prize Laureate Michał Heller (Kraków).

Poster Session

Poster Selection Committee: Marta Kicińska-Habior (Warszawa), Jean-Pierre Wieleczko(GANIL), Witold Męczyński (Kraków)

POSTERS WINNERS

Posters ( B1 format ) can be put out starting from Monday, August 30 in two lecture  halls of the   Antałówka Conference House .  Posters will be divided into 3 categories: E-experiment, I-Instrumentation, T-theory. Every poster has a number (see list of posters)  that will be marked on a poster stand prepared in advance.

The poster exhibition in Antałówka  can be visited during the whole conference till Friday afternoon. The dedicated Poster Session will be organized on Thursday, September 2. The participants will have then  an opportunity to  discuss with the poster  authors. Since the number of posters presented will be about 50 we gave up the poster flash talks. We foresee however, that five the most interesting posters will be published in the conference proceedings.  The Poster Selection Committee will  declare  the five successful posters chosen in a vote by the conference attendees during the Poster Session.

To create a friendly and informal atmosphere during the Poster Session we will serve snacks and refreshments.  Posters  should be removed by Friday afternoon.

Participants are warmly invited to take part in easy  walks in the Tatra National Park organized every afternoon by the conference and lead by a certified mountain guide.  We also plan a longer bus excursion (including lunch) to explore the  neighboring  Spisz and Podhale regions.

The  bars and cafeterias in the both Conference Houses will be available for the conference attendees in  afternoons till late evenings. The participants may also use the other facilities offered by the hotels as:  billiard, table tennis, gym, sauna, etc.
