The neutron deficient nuclei around Z=82 are of particular interest because of shape effects and shape coexistence [1]. Recent theoretical calculations by P. Sarriguren et al. [2] show that the shape of the ground state of the mother nucleus can be inferred from measurements of the distributions of the B(GT) for masses A = 192, 190, 188, 186, 184. In this contribution we present preliminary results of our study of the beta decay of 190Pb using the Total Absortion Technique at the ISOLDE facility.
